We are delighted to announce the speakers for Sunday 27 November 2022:
Richard Hamblyn: The environmental writer, historian and biographer of Luke Howard - The Invention of Clouds: How an Amateur Meteorologist Forged the Language of the Skies (2001, Picador) is an account of the life and work of Luke Howard. Other Cloud related works include The Cloud Book, Extraordinary Clouds and Extraordinary Weather
Helen Roberts: Senior meteorologist and weather forecaster at the Met Office. Helen has always been fascinated by the weather, particularly enjoying the spectacle of thunderstorms as a child. She has worked in many different types of forecasting and some days she can been seen as a weather presenter on the Met Office website.
Gavin Pretor-Pinney: The founder of the Cloud Appreciation Society. The society grew out of a talk on clouds which Gavin delivered to a literary festival in 2004. He has written two books celebrating Clouds - The Cloudspotter's Guide and The Cloud Collector's Handbook - essential guides to looking at clouds.
